Thanal Canada is an independent, non-profit organization committed to providing financial aid to underprivileged people struggling to meet basic healthcare needs. As a non-partisan and non-sectarian body, we have come together to make healthcare affordable to the poor and the marginalized. Though we formed an official organization in 2018, we have served the people since 2014. Thanal was born out of our shared values of empathy and compassion and continues to grow with our united effort to reach more people. We thrive with your support, so we request you to join hands with us in helping those in need.

Thanal Canada is registered under the Canada Not-For-Profit Corporations Act which encourages transparency and accountability.
We are supported by dedicated individuals and businesses who assist our loyal and hardworking members with financial aid. The money we collect goes directly into the account of the beneficiary, without the intervention of any third party, which sets us apart from most non-profit organizations.
Thanal was awarded the Special Jury Award for Covid Warrior in the Asianet News Healthcare Excellence Awards 2023 Canada for our services during the pandemic. Awards and Achievements

Thanal’s relentless efforts to serve the community in trying times, especially during the covid pandemic, were recognized by many, including media giants like Asianet News. Thanal was awarded the Special Jury Award for Covid Warrior in the Asianet News Healthcare Excellence Awards 2023 in partnership with Ontario Heroes Health and Social Services.
The recognition was for our services to over 60 individuals from India and Canada, providing financial aid for their medical treatments, which totaled about 2 million rupees. We also provided assistance to international students and distributed food kits to those in need. We dedicate this award in gratitude to our supporters and all the people who suffer from poverty and chronic illnesses.

Thanal organizes events and charity meets every year, sponsored by various individuals and businesses who believe in our cause. These annual celebrations, named ‘Thanal Sandhya’ have been a huge success. Thanal Sandhya showcases a variety of cultural programs including both modern and traditional music and dance, with participants of all ages. These events are foundational in bringing together our community and strengthening its bonds, welcoming new members each time.

FUNDING

Thanal is funded by the kind contributions of our members by their monthly donations of $10 or more. We collect these contributions and then distribute all the money to those who are in dire need of help. This means all the amount collected is used for charity and charity only, and the day to day expenses of the association is managed through sponsorships.
